Episode 14
This episode is set in Holles Street Maternity Hospital where Bloom goes
with the intention of visiting Mrs. Purefoy.
It transpires however that
Mrs. Purefoy is in protracted labour and not able to receive visitors. Instead
Bloom encounters Stephen Dedalus and some medical students and joins them
in a drinking spree. The time is 10:00 – 11:00 p.m.

Episode 14 was written in Trieste and in Paris in 1919/1920. It was published in The Little Review from September to December 1920. The real location of the hospital is not very clear. We unearthed 3 possibilities and we settled for the most likely 1904 location.
